Axel F in E Minor

Do you think we are the only one's that enjoy Tyler's music? Check out Capella's #21 in the background of this video.

We beat the Hot Sakes 19-3 last night. Josh (new guy) hit a home run over the left field fence in his debut Bulldog at bat. It must be the double batting gloves. Jeff must feel threatened at the AlphaMale. He'll have to get over it. Welcome Josh.

Two More Notes
Liz and I decided to make a documentary about the Bulldog and everyone we destroy. FYI - when you paid me for this season it included a full release for me to use your likeness in any way I see fit.

We play Capella the second to last game of the year at 9. We challenged them to an old fashioned pre-game drink-off. They accepted, so let's start to train and bring the pain.

2008 Season - Do You Believe in Miracles?

The Bulldog added another impressive victory to their credit with a 13-7 win over that one team we played in the season opener. It started out weak - we gave up four runs in the first. Fortunately the Bulldog was able to rely on the powerful bat of Maya Azteca. Her spark kept the innings going and setup Jeff's three run homer over the left field fence. This tater made Jeff the all-time Bulldog homer run leader. His two lifetime ding dongs drops the previous home run champ, Beach into last (and second) place.

Tyler made a strong case for Male MVP with stirring renditions of the Night Court Theme, Super Mario Brothers Theme, and a teasingly satisfying versions of The Final Countdown. Tyler's repertoire seems to grow exponentially every week and is the only reason why Jeff hasn't been ejected from every single game this year. Gordy, the bus driving ump, has taken a shine to Tyler and requested that he learn China Grove by the Doobie Brothers because "it's a kickass song."

I can't wait for next week.

Faces of the Game: Coach

Coach with Polish Weiners.

We came back from a big deficit and won by at least four. They had a 7 run first inning. One big inning really helped us. Leviticus had a homer as did someone else. My recollection could be better without Ojo Malo (Evil Eye) cerveza. The Cappella University ladies are still hots for Karl.

Coach helped out Tyler by filling in with a unique DJ set that included the Mexican Hat Dance and BBD - Poison among others.

United States of Wisconsin

Sconny is a whole different world. That's probably why I love it so. Take a close look at the "heathy" food in this Wisconsin manufacturing plant cafeteria. Items include local favorites such as buffalo wings and cheese curds. This and New Glarus Brewing Company makes me want to move back.

E League? We ain't in no E League. That's what we learned last night against the Boo Berry Bombers. They have to be the best hitting team the Bulldog or Donkey Punch has ever faced. Scouting reports indicate that they regularly throw up seven runs in an inning with impunity. The Bulldog held them to 7 runs last night - for the entire game. Unfortunately we only put out 5. Much love to the outfield for good job. A special thanks also goes to Levi and everyone that showed.

Bulldog Bangs Gong, Hard

The Wednesday evening matchup between the Bulldog and the Gong Hitters had everything it needed to become a historical event. It was to be a matchup for the ages - keyboard against gong, us versus hippies, beer versus special Gong Hitter medicine. Only one thing didn't work out right - they struggled with walks and we killed most everything that came across the plate. The Bulldog barked 19 times when the gong only recieved 4 hits in the blowout.

Jeff is the new Beach, becoming only the second Bulldog to homer over the left field fence. His advice, "hit the ball on the Mizuno part [sweet spot of the bat]." Giving him a switch buddy was also a contributing factor.

Todd also crushed a homer to right rounding out his regular exemplary left field play. Jim continues to impress along with Emily. Leviticus (the pitcher) showed off for his family and stepped out of Ryan's shadow by being awesome. Liz was best dressed.

My Kobe Beef Truffle Burger at the Bulldog NE was also awesome.

Karl are Ryan are Coewaach next week. Mind them well and offer to help with the whiteboard.

Pay to Play

Due to increased ethanol production Coach's salary, team registration, umpires, and the cost of softballs has jumped dramatically in the past year. Everyone needs to give Coach $35 to play. Cash money is always preferred.

Rule Clarification for E leagues

It has been brought to my attention that teams may not be aware of the run rule for E leagues. **All 'E' Leagues the half inning is over after six runs have scored PLAY STOPS - This rule may be waived if both teams agree. Please see to it that this is discussed at the managers meeting with the umpire prior to the start of the game.

Opening Day Mental Droppings

I am expecting the true leaders to emerge for our first game against the New Momars. Leaders: Meg is Coach's wife, not Mrs. Coach. Don't stick her with scoring, lineup making, or keyboard and amp setup. Leaders: bother Karl to get us new shirts. Leaders: ask youself what you want to accomplish and then make it happen. The only true way to predict the future is to create it.

Bulldog Schedule Announced.

We are opening the season at 9 pm on Wednesday 4/30 versus our new hated rivals, Northpoint. It sounds like a mall. The full schedule is located in the right hand column in PDF and Google Calendar formats.

We are still at Bryn Mawr Field #11. Bring out your men+fem frens and gloves because I am never sure if the marginal player are going to retire (you know who you are).

Karl is going to manage the first game because I will be doing some top secret market research in Arizona. E-mail if you can't make it to the first game.
